Chlorhexidine digluconate 2% is a chemical reagent for root canal rinsing.

Is intendent for use during endodontic treatment as a measure for rinsing root canals, it improves cleaning of root canals from the remnants of the treated tissue.

Composition:

chlorhexidine digluconate 2%, water Ph. Eur.

Properties:

- It improves mechanical preparation and cleaning of root canals.

- It lubricates a root canal facilitating the work with mechanical tools.

Handling the product:

1. Open the pulp cavity, remove the content to expose the root canal orifices (picture 1).

2. Rinse initially with Chlorhexidine digluconate 2% liquid (picture 2).

3. Remove the inflamed pulp from the root canal (picture 3).

4. Rinse copiously with Chlorhexidine digluconate 2% (10ml of liquid for 1 root canal) simultaneously prepare the canal mechanically – insert the liquid into the root canal by means of the syringe with needle with side portal (picture 4).

5. Liquid together with canal content aspirate by means of Endo-Aspirator  (picture 5).

During root canal preparation with Chlorhexidine digluconate 2%, it is recommended to use preparations containing disodium edetate (EDTA), for example Endo-Prep.

Caution! While rinsing root canals, it is necessary to rinse with physiological saline between rinsing sodium hypochlorite and chlorhexidine digluconate. It prevents from precipitating of a tawny deposit. Rinse copiously. 

Danger:

- Causes serious eye irritation.

- Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects.

Prevention:

- Avoid release to the environment.

- Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection.

- IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.

- If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/ attention.

- Dispose of contents/container to properly labeled waste containers in accordance with national legislation.

Storage:

- Store in a dry place.

- Keep only in original packaging.

- Store in a well-ventilated place. Keep container tightly closed.

- Keep cool.

- Protect from sunlight.
